Automated Inspection System With Instant Measuring Machine (IMM)

We know that manual inspection processes can create bottlenecks and impact your production line’s efficiency. We have partnered with Zentron Labs to deliver state-of-the-art automated inspection systems. While the measuring technology guarantees micron-level accuracy, our primary expertise focuses on the fully automated loading and unloading of components into the Instant Measuring Machine (IMM). By integrating advanced robotics with flexible handling, we ensure your inspection line never stops, guaranteeing zero defective dispatch.

Optimized Auto Loading and Unloading Configurations

We offer standard automated inspection systems capable of handling components of various sizes and shapes using a Yamaha SCARA Robot. Thanks to the flexible gripping mechanism, users can operate the automation system without frequently changing grippers for multiple variants. To meet different production demands, we provide two distinct handling configurations:

Configuration 1: Manual Tray Loading & Single Gripper

  • This setup features manual tray loading combined with a single flexible gripper.
  • Components are manually loaded onto the input tray and manually evacuated from the output tray.
  • The system delivers an output of approximately 5 parts per minute, though this varies based on the measurement count.
  • There is an idle time of approximately 30 seconds between trays for the robot and the inspection machine. This time is required by the operator to remove the completed trays and load a fresh tray into place to begin the next inspection cycle.

Configuration 2: Auto Tray Loading & Double Gripper

  • This is a more advanced setup. It utilizes automated movement for both the input and output trays while the operator fills the parts in buffer trays.
  • Equipped with a double flexible gripper, it handles diverse component geometries efficiently.
  • The automated tray movement increases throughput to approximately 10–12 parts per minute.
  • This configuration achieves zero idle time between the robot and the inspection machine, maximizing productivity.

Our automated handling systems are built to perfectly complement the high-precision capabilities of the IMM machine. Integrating our robotics with this machine ensures a payback period of less than 2 years and a reduction in human resource dependencies.

When our robots load your components, the IMM delivers:

  • One-Touch, Instant Inspection: The inspection result for all parameters is obtained in less than 2 seconds.
  • Orientation Detection: Advanced pattern-matching algorithms allow the part to be placed in any orientation, making the system highly flexible for automated placement.
  • Auto Focus: Advanced algorithms automatically focus on the required measurement plane, bringing consistency to the measurement.
  • Comprehensive Data Analytics: The system generates real-time part and batch reports, computing Cp / Cpk averages and trends to detect variances in real time.
  • Multipart Inspection: Multiple parts can be inspected simultaneously within the Field of View (FOV), greatly improving productivity.
